Till Baumann
top Till Baumann, freelance theatre facilitator and musician. He works with Netzwerk TheaterDialog in Eastern Germany and with the Paulo-Freire-Institute of the Free University of Berlin. He was theatre instructor and cultural educator with "DOMINO - Zivilcourage im Rampenlicht" in 2002 and 2003, a project working against racism and discrimination in the East German county of Sachsen-Anhalt. He co-directed the street theatre group piquete 2000-2004. He has facilitated workshops, seminars and training programmes in emancipatory theatre and Political Action Theatre in Europe and Latin America and has lectured at the University for Applied Sciences in Merseburg and at Free University Berlin. Prison theatre projects in Berlin and Eastern Germany. Research and training at Augusto Boal's Centre of the Theatre of the Oppressed in Rio de Janeiro (CTO-Rio). Further research on the implementation of theatre for communicating issues surrounding HIV/AIDS in Southern Africa. He studied Education, Latin American Studies and Political Science at the Free University (Berlin) and did advanced studies at the Centre for Advanced Training in Rural Development in Berlin.

He has published numerous articles and two monographs: Von der Politisierung des Theaters zur Theatralisierung der Politik. Theater der Unterdrückten im Rio de Janeiro der 90er Jahre (2001) and HIV/AIDS Prevention in the Agricultural Sector in Malawi. A study on Awareness Activities and Theatre (2001).
