Meike Herminghausen

Meike
Herminghausen, born in 1970, is theatre pedagogue at the
renowned children and youth theatre, GRIPS in Berlin and also
works freelance. She has facilitated Theatre for Development
projects in Ethiopia (HIV/AIDS Awareness) and Somaliland (reintegration
of ex-combatants) for the German Agency for Technical Cooperation
(GTZ). In Germany she has led theatre projects with refugee
children, youth groups and physically and mentally challenged
adults. She has lectured at the University of Hamburg, provided
teacher training, led workshops at theatre festivals, organised
and facilitated international youth exchanges, and organised
conferences. She initiated the "Arts in Community Development"
network in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She studied fine arts and
German (University of Bremen), and completed her training as
secondary school teacher in Hamburg in both subjects and drama.
Post graduate degree in Educational Theatre (University of the
Arts, Berlin). Qualified as an "Open Space" facilitator.
